AN AVERAGE OF 17 PEOPLE DIE EACH DAY WAITING FOR A LIFE-SAVING TRANSPLANT.

Last year, almost 29,000 lives in the United States were saved through organ transplants. However, over 100,000 people, including over 800 Indiana residents, are currently waiting for life-saving organ transplants. Sadly, due to the critical shortage of organs, many of these people will not get a second chance at life.

EVERY 12 MINUTES, ANOTHER MAN, WOMAN OR CHILD IS ADDED TO THE TRANSPLANT WAITING LIST.

NOTE: UNOS/OPTN policies allow patients to be listed with more than one transplant center (multiple-listing), thus the number of registrations is greater than the actual number of patients.
*Some patients are waiting for more than one organ, therefore the total number of patients is less than the sum of patients waiting for each organ.
**Some organs are not suitable for transplantation due to disease or damage.
